The Rise of Poitical Lying, Peter Oborne

Posted by twobs on January 30th, 2007

This is a review of a book I wrote on Amazon. I Don’t know if they will post it seeing as it implies Oborne wanks over Thatcher (Edit: They did post it, Amazon aren’t afraid of a bit of wanking.), so I posted it here too. I’ve never written a review on Amazon before, but [...]

Backdane

Here are a few photos I took from this Christmas’ trip to Backdane.
Its always lovely to spend a couple of days in the middle of nowhere in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, especially in winter. I hope this is a tradition we keep up for many years.

Clipper Organic Redbush

Posted by twobs on January 14th, 2007

Redbush, or Rooibos as it now seems very middle class to call it, is a naturally sweet and caffene free tea. The overall taste is very soothing and the lack of caffene makes it perfect for a relaxing evening drink that won’t keep you up.

The aroma smells as sweet as the tea tastes. Its full [...]

Twinings Assam

Posted by twobs on January 13th, 2007

Assam is a more ‘standard’ tasting tea, but with the quality blending Twinings gives to all of their teas. This is a brilliant daytime tea, its strong enough to have a classic flavour but not too heavy so as to slow you down. Perfect to relax at the end of a day of work or [...]

Twinings Earl Grey

Posted by twobs on January 13th, 2007

Twinings have been the worlds best tea blenders for 300 years this year, and they still produce a huge range of very British teas.

Twinings were the inventors of Earl Grey tea, after Richard Twining was personally asked by 2nd Earl Grey to blend a tea to match a Chineese blend given to the Earl. Twining [...]

propper tea is theft

Posted by twobs on January 13th, 2007

It seems like in China tea shops have crazy names like shit pubs do over here, but in a rather bizzare story of government control a Chineese tea shop has been forced to change its name.
Chinese officials are ordering a Shanghai teahouse to change its name, calling it a threat to public morality. The name [...]

Ty•phoo

Posted by twobs on January 11th, 2007

Apparently this tea is ‘full of little oo’s’ and if the advert is to be believed causes you to sound like you’ve been given a surprise fucking/scalded your finger each time you take a mouthful.

That hasn’t yet happend for me, but it is one of the more warming teas I have drunk, its a great [...]

Tea Blog

Posted by twobs on January 11th, 2007

I had a thought while on the internet today, I searched high and low, but couldn’t find what I wanted anywhere. So you know what, I might do it myself.

Nowhere on the internet is there a Tea Blog. There are a few run by tea companies, there is of course the British Tea Council with [...]

war criminal

Via Jyoti
This poster was done by Keyvan, a friend of Jyoti’s I met years ago on an anti war march, he’s an exceptional photogropher so check them out.
Its a brilliant satire on the rather tasteless and wasteful ‘no ifs no buts’ adverts that annoy me so.

Back in March Anita Rodick sold her controling share in the Bodyshop to L’Oreal. L’Oreal are 50% owned by the company topping the World Helth Organisation’s list of the wolds most unethical companies, Nestle.
